ALMEDAHLS – A SWEDISH TRADEMARK WITH FINE OLD TRADITIONS
In 1846 Hans H Wesslau started producing linen fabrics in Örgryte outside Gothenburg. The factory got its name from his daughter Alma, and still today the name of the district is Almedal. Through the years Almedahls has collaborated with a number of well-known designers and created several classical table-cloths and towels, which have been delivered to castles and cabins. Their aim is to carry forward knowledge and handicraft traditions from past times to future generations.
CREATING THE CLASSICS OF TOMORROW
When design is at its best it makes a difference. In their in-house design studio they create the future textiles for the home. By honoring tradition and roots, at the same time looking forward, Almedahls is creating the classics of tomorrow.
THE BELOVED TEA-TOWEL
Almedahls has a large range for the kitchen, including classical patterns as well as new products for the season. We love the tea-towel and have varied its look with different motifs. It all started with the project “Linen Line†by Astrid Sample, which signified a revolution for the Swedish linen cupboard in the 1950’s. All towels are made in the long-wearing quality 50 % flax and 50 % cotton, which stands wearing by generations and only gets more beautiful as time goes on.
